ウィリアム・ジェームズは

「アメリカ心理学の父」と呼ばれる心理学者・哲学者です。

幼い頃から様々な病を患い、
鬱病にも苦しんだそうです。

ハーバード大の医学部を卒業したものの、
医者になることはなく、
大学で生理学、解剖学、哲学、心理学を教えていました。

彼の最も有名な著書は、
１８９０年に出版された
『心理学原則(Principles of Psychology)』でしょう。
